Librascope Memories’ Blog #26

Dear Libravet,

I would like to bring you up to date on the recent additions and future plans for the “Librascope Memories” web-site (www.librascopememories.com). Much progress has been made since the web-site was first published in April, 2009, and more is planned for 2010.

  1. 1)There are now 294 Librazettes on the web-site which cover the early 1940’s through the year 1999. In total, there are 2,246 Librazette pages occupying 1.4GB of web-site storage space. All six decades of Librazettes are in OCR’ed PDF format, so they can easily be read, printed, saved, and/or individually searched on your computer using Adobe Reader. Special thanks to Ray Hand who manually scanned almost all of these Librazettes, so that they could be published. We believe our collection is close to complete now, but any missing issues will be added as soon as they become available.

  2. 2)In addition to the 294 Librazettes, several photographs, advertisements, news items, brochures, and product literature have been added. There are also five videos now. Many more additions to each of these categories are planned for next year.

  3. 3)Today, a countdown timer was added to the bottom of the Welcome page which indicates the total days and hours remaining until the next Libravet Reunion in 2010. Next month, Georgine Archer will be sending out the 2010 Reunion details.

  4. 4)We are currently developing a program which allow you to simultaneously search all 294 Librazettes, plus all the other documents on the web-site. For example, by simply typing your name into a “Librazettes” search box, you’ll receive a complete listing of all the Librazettes that your name appears in. This new feature should be available on the web-site early next year.

  5. 5)Finally, please note that the Librascope Memories Blog page continues to be used to report updates to  the web-site as they are published. If you have an RSS reader such as “Google Reader”, you may easily subscribe to the Blog. If you would rather be kept up to date by e-mail, please make certain we have your correct e-mail address.

Happy Holidays,
